Three lawyers. One long view.

Margaret founded the firm in 2012 after nine years in the trusts and estates group of a large downtown Kansas City firm, where she learned both the craft of sophisticated planning and the conviction that families should not need a conglomerate to get it. She has spent her career on one question: how families keep what they have built, and how they pass it on without passing on conflict.

Her practice centers on estate planning for families and business owners on both sides of the state line, and on guiding personal representatives and trustees through administrations that stay out of the newspaper and out of litigation. Probate judges see her often enough to know her filings arrive complete.

She teaches an annual continuing legal education session on Missouri nonprobate transfers, and spends an unreasonable share of her free time restoring a 1920s Waldo bungalow that she describes as her longest-running administration.

Leila joined the firm in 2021 from a judicial clerkship with a Missouri circuit court, where she watched a full docket of probate matters from the bench's side and developed her defining professional habit: filings that answer the court's questions before they are asked.

Her practice concentrates on estate administration, guardianships and conservatorships for elderly and disabled family members, and the small-estate procedures that spare families a full administration. Clients consistently describe her the same way: she calls back the same day, and she never makes you feel foolish for asking.

She serves on the young lawyers board of a Kansas City legal aid organization and hosts a monthly supper club whose rotating theme has never once been observed by its members.
